SCIENCE! movie: Land of the Dead!

And thus concludes the Dead series.

I enjoyed this movie, it had a whole bunch of stand-out stuff. Like when the leader zombie gets the jackhammer and has monkey-like delight about it. Then he gets that kicked puppy look when it stops. Classic.

In conclusion: Zombie movies rock.

It's the only Romero zombie movie where you don't know who's going to survive 'till the end because the only black guy with a major role was already dead when the movie started.

I was excited about this movie because Dennis Hopper was in it, and he didn't disappoint. He's a master of belting out cheesy one-liners. I was hoping he'd give us a "pop quiz, hotshot!", but alas.

It occurred to me that Dennis Hopper was the only character in the entire series to refer to the undead as zombies.

I'm pretty sure the z-word was mentioned at least once in the original Dawn of the Dead.
