Default SCIENCE! Movie: Toxic Avenger

Wow, not quite sure what to say about this one. It's that rare sort of "it's bad but we know it's bad so we make the best of it so it's actually sorta good" film. It was made by Troma, which should be enough of a hint for anyone that's seen other Troma films (such as Cannibal: The Musical).

The "Body Talk" song that played 24/7 at the Sin N' Vice Gym was inspiring. For the curious, the lyrics were pretty much:

Body talk
Body talk
I like the sound of your body talk
Body talk
Body talk
I like the sound of your body talk

It's a shame it's not on iTunes. And I do mean that.

If you ever want to see a criminal get beat down with his own arm after it has been ripped from his body, this is the movie for you.

Or another criminal's hands being deep-fryed.

And old ladies being put in tumble-driers.

Now that was funny.

Does it feature public disobedience?

How could anyone have seen any other Troma movie, but not Toxic Avenger? That's like being a huge Mark Hamill fan but never getting around to watching Star Wars.

Getting back to the question, I haven't seen the majority of the movies in this list, so this has been my opportunity to do so. I saw Cannibal: The Musical because I'm a fan of the collective works of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Still haven't gotten around to seeing Orgazmo though.

Orgazmo is a funny movie. It's actually pretty clean in regards to nudity... well, aside from a whole lot of man ass anyway.

The title theme song is great.

Regarding Toxic Avenger, I was amused how both of the blonde female roles had exactly the same style of B-movie acting: Vapid, pushy, and big-eyed. I swear they must've been great actresses who were coached to act horribly, and it saved many otherwise un-funny scenes.

Example: Blind character doing extremely obvious bumbling sight-gags-- not so funny.

Blind character doing obvious sight gags with a forced retail cheerfulness, eyes opened to maximum capacity-- weirdly, weirdly humorous.

I have only a few words for you:
Little kids = 10 points. (+5 if they're on tricycles.)

EDIT: and by the by, the worst Troma film I've seen, I must thank Kyle for. He gave it to me for my birthday. Nuke 'Em High II. absolute crap, and it's appeared in the brew.

The point system seemed much less thought-out than the one in place in Death Race 2000. And it lacked fancy graphics, thereby making it not nearly as shirt-worthy.

Well, technically Bandai made the game. And, as we all know, Bandai + 8/16 bit + license = excellence!
