Why do people always assume that the middle ground is best? I for one believe in what Thomas Paine said "A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice."

Hanging out in the Belt with you guys! Aww!

True enough, there are some (few) cases in which the State must intervene. But in general, given two choices the one that benefits free-market the most tends to be the correct one. From my point of view, you have these two systems, one of which "takes into account human greed" (socialism) and tackles the issue by…

I like John Filleau, for he speaks the truth.

I live in a country with pretty heavy socialist policies (even if the current government would like people to think otherwise) and the result has been, IMO, the general poverty and lousy public services that exist. Examples: We have one of the most rigid and strict labor laws in the world, which results in people hiring…

It sure is easy to speak about socialism when one does not live in a country where people have to suffer the consequences of applying (or attempting to apply) said ideology.

Because cooking requires standing up for too long for them to handle... BUT IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT, NATURE MADE THEM FAT.

In spanish "cague" (pronounced kah-geh) means "to shit" or "he or she shits". Therefore, I exclusively refer to Nicolas Cage as "Nicolas Cague". EDIT: This is funny because it seems like I am calling him by his real name, only mispronounced while at the same time implying that he and his acting skills are comparable to…

They think they are people!

Hell, I know a family of people just like them in which everyone is fat. Except the thinner member from the one I know is fatter than the fatter of those in the news, and guess what? THEY ALL HAVE JOBS AND DO WELL AT THEM.

He may have used those facts for his own interest previously, but that still doesn't make it legal for someone else to make money off his image without giving him a piece of the cake or at the very least asking for his permission. It's even worse when you consider that a lot of these facts aren't actually created by the…

I think I misunderstood what you were trying to say. Because you mentioned judges and lawyers I was under the impression that you were against the woman having to prove that she was raped during a trial. It's obviously not necesary to prove her rape when asking for an abortion.
-
So you are suggesting that we change civil rights to presumption of guiltiness instead of innocence? Yeah that sounds like an even better idea. Heck, let's go back to the inquisitive system, too! And bring weighted evidence and trials by ordeals as well.

It was incredible. The only bummer was that they didn't play Can I Play with Madness and Heaven Can Wait, two of my all time favorites. Actually, they played the exact same songs that appear on the 2009 setlist on the wikipedia page about the Somewhere Back in Time World Tour, only in a different order. That, and that when…

No, that doesn't mean that one life is worthier than the other, it means that it is more viable than the other, if anything. I have personally met a 10 year old girl who had a baby (granted, it wasn't twins) and who was in perfect health status.

Yesteday I traveled to Quito and at 10 am was already waiting in line with some friends (who were waiting since 7) to see IRON MAIDEN. I ended up with my arms and face sunburnt, completely and utterly exhausted and with a lot of muscular pain in my legs and neck but it was well worth it. Lauren Harris, daughter of the…

Well, I'm not really sure if abortion is right when the pregnancy is result of a rape. I am in favor of it when the pregnancy constitutes a serious risk (read: DEATH) to the mother's life. But the argument that the Church poses is very valid: How can one choose that one life is worthier than the other? On what grounds can…

Hey Burn After Reading was cool. It wasn't a great movie but it was very entertaining. I read somewhere that an alternative title for the movie was "John Malkovich gets pissed at Brad Pitt: The Movie".
