Heh. I actually thought those eyes were beads, which she'd strung on the yarn and knit into place. I used to use similar-looking beads when I made dolls when I was young. I'm so disappointed that her book is out of print.

Are they magnetic? I thought they were sort-of rivet style.

You have her booklet? It looks awesome. Though yeah, I bet you don't have much time for needlecraft, now that you're finishing up and getting ready to move away from your friends. ^__^ If you ever make any of Jess Hutch's stuffed animals, will you post a picture?

Also, I am really enjoying the knitted works of Jess Hutch: http://www.jesshutch.com/2005/02/finally.html

I am SO, SO HAPPY to find that this was not the april fool's joke I thought it was. Viva la Ross!

Hey, at least Coolio's panoply of munchies sound very multicultural. ...My least favorite Food Network chef is Giada DeLaurentis. I'm remembering this episode wherein she makes a regular cheesecake, but uses mascarpone instead of cream cheese in order to make the damn thing appear to be Italian. Come ON, lady. If you want…

Nuki, I didn't know you studied set design. That's pretty awesome. Lore, my M.S. is in Engineering Mechanics, which is similar to mechanical engineering except there's more SCIENCE! involved. I usually just tell people that the degree was mechanical engineering, for simplicity. And yeah, I'm mad-jealous of Nato's job. It…

When you get to Davis, do NOT work at Chamonix.

Lang, your state's minimum wage is $6.75-- I know this because that was my salary this fall. (During my I Hate California phase.) That makes Deku's salary pretty darn impressive-- a full thrice minimum wage! I picture him with a roll of cash the size of a soda can in his pocket at all times, carefully peeling off bills to…

JC, allow me to get your hopes up. A few hours ago, I was contacted to interview for the first of the admin jobs. Time to dryclean the ol' interviewin' suit.

OK, I'll join in. I have a master's degree in engineering, and I work as a barrista. It's actually a very nice job, and I'm treated very well compared to even engineering jobs that I've held. This week I was offered an equally nice job at a local yarn store. I'm very frustrated, though, because getting an M.S. in…

Lang, it makes sense with excessive punctuation: 'Works for me, because as it is, "in fact" is already a compound word.'

I was punished enough that week, but thanks anyway. ^__^

For you, Hamelin.

AND Solardeathray.com updated, as you just said on AIM. AND we got Phoenix Wright. Seriously, it's like Christmas came back.

Awesome, dude! the world has to see Nukivaj's.

Jason, I would desperately love to access Hyung-sun Kim's tutorials, but I can't even get the videos to download, much less play. What stupid thing am I doing wrong, here? His awesomely brutal critique linked at the bottom of the page rocked. I wish I had a teacher who would rip my work apart like that. If that kid didn't…

Good god, wasn't it bad enough when I gave the one character a McJakey goatee?

Yeah, guys, I must admit that I am leaning toward 3. It would be lots of fun to put together, and the non-canonical comics could go there also. A first-time reader would not have to load like ten pictures on their first browse through the archive. As I said to Jon, when I first read a comic, I don't read the commentary in…

Jon: AUGHH! THE PUN! Amoeba Boy: Well played. Yes, she is too short. It was a mistake-- the original drawing of her had her leaning on the countertop, and I forgot to put her back to her standing height when I nixed the leaning. Nato, thanks for the tip.

I refuse! Why must the stately horsehead be eradicated when stupid XML runs rampant across the internet? EDIT: It's because I hate typing ampersands. WTF, ampersand? You were banished to the shift-number region of the keyboard because YOU SUCK! EDIT: PEOPLE! PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I LIKE HORSEHEAD BUT NOT AMPERSANDS!…

Dude! Not everyone on this forum is Olga!

wait, is that guy the victim or the drug?

That baby has too many teeth to be a hobo baby.

They do not need names. Why are you people all so obsessed with names?

Who went to Paris last year? WHO?

I really liked the walkthrough of Jane's character design. What I'd really like is a tutorial that showed how an artist set the foundation to draw a character consistently. Occasionally one sees "character sheets" as bonuses in comics-- developmental drawings of the characters which show them from several angles, key…

Hey, we can also get a group discount if we register ten or more at the same time. Anyone interested? That will be 25$ for three days of conventiony goodness.
