Yarnstorming

Now that I teach knitting classes, I am starting a personal knitting site/blog for my patterns and info. I'm trying to think of a site name that implies hardcore knitting without offending little old ladies. Here are some I've thought of:

Empire of Knit (or Knitted Empire, not sure)
Woolen Fist
Yarnemy (possibly followed by Of The State)

Any suggestions? Sadly, I believe Yarnema is taken. ^__^

    i still like woolen fist, but mitten chops is pretty cute too.

    My vocabulary is a little thin in the knitting department.
    Off the top of my head, something like "Iron Knit" or the like. I do like "Yarnstorm" too.

    Or at least, something disturbingly similar to puns.

    I think that, perhaps, Stef has intentionally phrased this activity in a way that convinces her that there is no punning going on.

    Damn it, Iguana, now that she realizes this, she won't be participating in our punnery!

    Sigh. I think I didn't intend the puns, but I sure did leave the door wide open. That said, most knitting puns are bad, bad, bad. I am rationalizing this dabbling with the forbidden wordplay in the name of unearthing knit puns that are not screamingly, screamingly trite. Do you know how much mileage they get out of the word "purl"? Wretch.

    In fact, one of my first posts on this blog was going to break down which puns should be done and which puns are up-and-coming. Knit = Shit, as used in JC's post, is an up-and-coming pun, though with the publication of "Knit Happens", a recent book of hip patterns, I think knit=shit will make the overuse list within a year.

    May I present my most blatant pun to add to this list: Citizen Skein.

    It did only mention not giving out the URL to customers.
